Tutoring & Study Center (TSC)
The TSC provides academic tutors for students seeking to do better in their courses. The best graduate and undergraduate tutors are found by collaborating with the deans and faculty of the schools and colleges. These students are trained to work effectively with individual students and students in small groups.  Workshops are provided upon request for topics such as time management, test-taking and study strategies. For additional information please contact the TSC at 443-2005, email tutorctr@syr.edu  111 Waverly Ave., Suite 220.  To sign up for a tutor, you must first (and only once) come to the TSC to be granted use priveleges on our scheduler website. After your initial visit, you may use Firefox browser to search for tutors and set appointments at http://tsc.syr.edu

College Learning Strategies
The University's Center for Study Skills offers assistance in acquiring advanced learning strategies in the context of your academic coursework. Assistance is provided in developing study skills, preparing for tests and examinations, and completing course assignments through the 3-credit course, CLS 105. Accounting Tutoring
Beta Alpha Psi, the National Accounting Fraternity, offers free tutoring for Accounting 151, 201 & 252. Calculus Clinic

Chemistry Tutoring
Alpha Chi Sigma, the Professional Chemistry Fraternity, offers free tutoring for general Chemistry classes (CHE 106, 116) and Organic Chemistry (CHE275, 285). Mathnerds.com provides Free, discovery-based, mathematical guidance via an international volunteer network of mathematicians.  It does not supply answers to homework, take home tests and the like; rather, volunteers provide hints, suggestions, and references to help you understand and solve your mathematical problems.

The Writing Center

The SU Writing Center is available for all who are interested in developing writing skills across the curriculum. For students it is a place where they can improve their writing, regardless of their level of development, by working with consultants at any stage of their writing process. For faculty it is a resource which enables them to supplement their own classroom writing instruction through student referral, requests for in-class workshops and presentations led by consultants, and dialogue with staff members about writing pedagogy. The Writing Center is staffed by professional, graduate, and peer writing consultants. To make an appointment, log on to  the website using your SU NetID (the first part of your email address) and the first nine digits of your SU ID# (without hyphens). Services are also available on a drop-in basis Monday through Thursday, 10 AM to 2 PM.
