LaVonda N. Reed
LaVonda is Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs and Professor of Law. She is a senior leader in Academic Affairs charged with a wide range of matters relating to faculty across SU’s schools and colleges and plays a key role in faculty searches and appointments, new faculty orientation, promotion and tenure, research and administrative leaves, retirements, as well as faculty recognitions, awards, and honors. Reed identifies opportunities designed to facilitate and support faculty success in academic life including professional development of SU’s faculty as well as support for and advancement of faculty research and teaching. Bron is Director of Faculty Development. She is responsible for coordinating activities and services for faculty including new faculty welcome and orientation, support for faculty success in teaching, scholarly and creative work, and on-going professional development opportunities for faculty, including department chairs, and recognition and celebration of faculty work through University award programs. She holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Syracuse.
Christine is the Executive Assistant to the Associate Provost. She is responsible for oversight of day-to-day office operations, providing direction on processes as needed. She is also responsible for managing Faculty Affairs’ administrative processes including: faculty leaves, requests for tenure and promotion, tenure clock stops, faculty search requests, faculty full-time appointments, faculty retirements, and assisting with faculty development events, and new faculty orientation.
